Government Reduces Petrol and Diesel Prices to Ease Public Burden

The federal government has announced a further reduction in Petrol and Diesel Prices continuing its efforts to provide relief to the public. Effective from October 1, petrol and diesel prices will be lowered, as per an official notification.

Petrol will be reduced by Rs2.07 per litre, decreasing from Rs249.10 to Rs247.03 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) will see a drop of Rs3.40 per litre, bringing its price from Rs249.69 to Rs246.29 per litre.

Additionally, light diesel will experience a reduction of Rs1.03 per litre, setting the new price at Rs140.90 per litre. Kerosene will also decrease by Rs3.57 per litre, lowering its cost from Rs158.47 to Rs154.90 per litre.

Since June 1, 2024, petrol prices have fallen by Rs21.23 per litre, and diesel prices have seen a reduction of Rs18.67 per litre.

This price cut, initiated under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s directive, aims to pass the benefits directly to the public, with the new rates coming into effect at midnight.
