The Pakistani government has firmly rejected any possibility of negotiations with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters, increasing tensions following several days of demonstrations in Islamabad. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Information Minister Atta Tarar held a press conference on Tuesday, announcing that the protesters, who had gathered at D-Chowk, were pushed back, and no further talks would take place.
Naqvi stated that the government had made a clear decision not to engage in discussions with the protesters. He accused PTI of attempting to provoke violence during the demonstrations and warned that the government would not allow the protesters to create martyrs. He also singled out Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife, for instigating the unrest, claiming that she was responsible for the loss of life and property.

Tarar joined in condemning PTI, accusing the party of using children as human shields and inciting violence. He displayed marbles and shells allegedly used by the protesters to attack law enforcement. Tarar further claimed that foreign nationals, including Afghan nationals, had been recruited to participate in the protests, intensifying the government’s allegations against PTI.
Both ministers made it clear that no negotiations would be held, and the government would continue to stand firm against the protesters. Tarar challenged PTI’s leadership, specifically Bushra Bibi, to bring forward her family members for confrontation. He warned that the government would not allow any attempts to disrupt peace and would respond forcefully to any further escalation.
