Imran Khan Meetings Banned at Request of PTI Leaders: Faisal Vawda

Imran Khan Meetings Banned at Request of PTI Leaders Faisal Vawda

Senator Faisal Vawda recently commented on the ban imposed on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders meeting with the party’s founding chairman, Imran Khan, claiming it was requested by the PTI leaders themselves. In a discussion on a private channel, Vawda explained that the party leadership had advised against seeking permission for the meeting, indicating that it became difficult for them when Khan encouraged public mobilization.

He also mentioned that PTI members had obtained a letter from 62 US senators, which he argued widened the gap between Khan and the establishment, suggesting that this has effectively sidelined Khan and his political agenda.

Regarding the circumstances surrounding the release of Bushra Bibi, Vawda implied that her release might have involved some form of deal, citing extensive renovations at their residence in Bani Gala, including planting trees and cleaning activities. However, he did not provide specific details about this alleged deal.

Vawda expressed uncertainty about the timeline of Khan’s release, stating that the pending cases against him remain unclear. He also alleged that General (R) Faiz Hamid was linking Khan to various controversies, including the events of May 9 and the murder of journalist Arshad Sharif, predicting that there would be a court martial for Hamid leading to his conviction.

He raised concerns about the absence of Murad Saeed, a former minister under Khan, in the investigation related to the Arshad Sharif murder case, noting that Saeed hasn’t been seen for two years.

On the topic of legislative amendments, Vawda mentioned the 27th amendment, indicating that additional amendments, including a potential 28th, could follow.

In a post on the social media platform X, he reiterated his previous announcement about Bushra Bibi’s release, expressing satisfaction that his claims were not baseless. He stated that there are no new cases against her and emphasized the VIP treatment she received upon her release. Vawda also noted that Imran Khan was set to meet with his lawyers and that regular meetings would commence from October 26, assuring the public of transparency regarding Khan’s situation and lamenting that many of Khan’s companions have distanced themselves from him.
