Imran Khan Rejects Claims of Supporting Israel Ties

Imran Khan

Imran Khan, former prime minister and PTI founder, has refuted accusations of advocating for relations with Israel. Currently imprisoned, he labeled these claims as a “propaganda campaign” stemming from an article in an Israeli newspaper.

Speaking from Adiala Jail, Khan dismissed the narrative, asserting that it misinterprets his views. He clarified, “My stance on Israel has not changed. The Palestinian people are enduring genocide, and any discussions require a ceasefire and a commitment to a two-state solution.”

Khan’s remarks come amid Pakistan’s turbulent political landscape. He criticized Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s call for unity, stating, “Peace is a by-product of justice,” while condemning the alleged electoral fraud and lack of investigations into PTI’s treatment.

Khan expressed concerns over proposed constitutional amendments, claiming they would threaten democracy and stability. He compared the current government to General Yahya Khan’s regime, warning of increasing economic instability and a growing exodus of citizens.

Despite challenges such as mass arrests and restrictions, Khan boasted of his party’s ability to gather large crowds. He announced plans for another rally in Rawalpindi and indicated that protests would follow if permission was denied.
