Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider Khan has urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to set aside his differences and collaborate with President Asif Ali Zardari to foster the country’s development. Speaking at the convocation of Rawalpindi Women’s University, Haider emphasized that Khan should abandon his stubbornness and work under Zardari’s leadership to resolve ongoing political turmoil.
Haider also advised PTI to exercise patience, suggesting that while the party may be eager for revolutionary changes, they should wait until after the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. He stated, “Revolutions don’t happen with ministers, convoys, and official resources,” urging PTI to pause their efforts for the country’s sake.

Criticizing PTI’s political approach, Haider expressed disappointment over the party’s actions, particularly during crucial foreign visits. He accused PTI of destabilizing the country by staging protests during important diplomatic events, which he claimed sent the wrong message to foreign leaders, discouraging engagement with Pakistan.
The governor praised Asif Zardari’s political role, asserting that he has the ability to unite various factions and lead the country toward progress. He also called for new constitutional amendments, emphasizing the need for consensus, while highlighting challenges in the education sector and the critical role of the youth in driving economic stability and development.
