Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, and his wife Bushra Bibi have appealed to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the conviction handed down by an accountability court in the £190 million corruption case. The petition argues that the conviction is politically motivated, pointing out the ongoing legal actions against Khan since his ousting from office.
Khan’s petition emphasizes that the prosecution is an act of political victimization, using the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as a tool for settling political scores. It highlights that this is the third attempt to target him politically, aiming to imprison him and hinder his political influence.

The petition argues that Khan has been subjected to numerous prosecutions, which have resulted in suspensions, bails, and acquittals, proving his innocence. It stresses that no private individual has been harmed by these cases, which have been initiated by political opponents using the state as a weapon.
The appeal calls for Khan’s honorable acquittal, claiming that it would correct the perceived injustice and reinforce the judicial system’s commitment to fairness.
