Pakistan’s military has reported shooting down 12 Indian drones in recent weeks, according to a statement by Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif.
Despite these interceptions, one military personnel lost their life and four others were injured in the incidents, which Pakistan has described as serious violations of its airspace and sovereignty.

The drones, identified as Israeli-manufactured Heron UAVs, were reportedly engaged over multiple key cities including Lahore, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Attock, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Miano, Chor, and near Karachi.
Lt Gen Sharif emphasized that these ongoing airspace intrusions are not only hostile acts but also breaches of international norms. “Our forces remain vigilant and ready to defend our skies,” he stated.
While the exact timeline and countermeasures used to neutralize the drones were not disclosed, the ISPR stressed that Pakistan considers such repeated violations provocative and maintains the right to respond as necessary. India has yet to officially comment on the claims. The Heron drone, developed by Israel Aerospace Industries, plays a significant role in India’s reconnaissance operations.
These drone incidents come amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, heightening fears of further escalation and drawing attention to increasing cross-border military activities and surveillance efforts.
