Ireland Announces Full Scholarships for Palestinian Students Affected by Gaza Conflict

Ireland has introduced full scholarships for Palestinian students impacted by the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the West Bank through the Ireland-Palestine Scholarship Programme (IPSP).

As per a recent announcement from the Representative Office of Ireland, five scholarships will be offered for the 2025-2026 academic year to students from the occupied Palestinian territories.

These scholarships will enable students to pursue one-year Master’s programs in Ireland, underscoring Ireland’s commitment to education and its solidarity with Palestine.

The scholarships are fully funded, covering academic fees, visa costs, medical and travel insurance, round-trip economy flights, the Irish residence permit fee, and a monthly living stipend. Additional allowances for settling in, course completion, and departure are also included.

This initiative is part of the broader Ireland Fellows global scholarship program, led by the Irish government, which officially recognized Palestine as a sovereign state in May 2024.

The announcement comes at a time when Gaza’s educational infrastructure has suffered devastating losses. Since the outbreak of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, all universities in Gaza have been destroyed, with many primary and secondary schools severely damaged. The World Bank estimates the damage to education facilities by January 2024 to be around $341 million.
