Human rights attorney Imaan Mazari was arrested from her Islamabad residence in the early hours of Sunday. The arrest was confirmed by local police. Imaan, daughter of former minister and PTI leader Shireen Mazari, was taken into custody for participating in a sit-in, resisting, and interfering in state matters, according to Tarnol Police Station personnel.
Earlier, Shireen Mazari reported that plainclothes individuals, including women and paratroopers, forcefully apprehended her daughter, describing it as a “kidnapping” incident.

The former minister disclosed this on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), detailing how officials forcibly entered their home, confiscated security cameras, Imaan’s laptop, and phone. The incident occurred while Imaan was in her night attire.

Shireen Mazari strongly condemned the incident, expressing shock at the law enforcement officers’ unlawful actions. During the late-night raid, she questioned the motives of those involved, yet they proceeded to forcibly take Imaan and thoroughly search their home. Shireen and Imaan Mazari were both present during the incident.
