Islamabad Starts Major Campaign to Ban Plastic Bags

The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad has initiated a major crackdown on the use of plastic shopping bags due to their contribution to pollution.

According to Express News, eight teams have been formed to enforce this crackdown, with operations planned across various city areas under the supervision of Islamabad’s Assistant Commissioners.

Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz highlighted the need to curb the use of polyethylene bags, stressing that tackling environmental pollution is a shared responsibility.

He urged citizens to support the district administration’s efforts in reducing plastic bag usage.
