PM Shehbaz Orders Construction of World-Class Overseas Club in Islamabad

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to establish a world-class overseas club in Islamabad, equipped with cutting-edge amenities.

The project, estimated to cost Rs27 billion, will be exclusively available to overseas Pakistanis, providing them with a modern space to reconnect with their homeland. In its initial phase, the club aims to offer membership to 10,000 overseas Pakistanis.

Prior to his departure for Britain, the Prime Minister was briefed on the project by the CDA chairman and other senior officials. He directed the CDA to draft a detailed Project Concept (PC-1) that aligns with international standards and ensures sustainable revenue generation. The project is anticipated to elevate the visual appeal of the federal capital.

The proposed club will set a new benchmark, surpassing the amenities offered by existing clubs in Islamabad. It will include a variety of facilities such as dining, health, and recreational services.

The membership fee for the initial phase has been set at $20,000, targeting 10,000 members.

Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized that the club should meet the highest quality standards, comparable to any international facility, and surpass those of the Gymkhana Club and Islamabad Club.

He has instructed the CDA to finalize the PC-1, which will be reviewed upon his return from the United States for final approval and to expedite the project’s launch.

According to CDA sources, a site for the overseas club will be selected soon, and another briefing will be presented to the Prime Minister once he returns.
