K-P Assembly Calls Emergency Session Over CM Gandapur’s Disappearance

K-P Assembly

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Assembly has called an emergency session for Sunday at 2 pm to discuss the alleged disappearance of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. The session, convened by the Assembly Speaker, is unusual as assembly meetings are not typically held on off days. The main agenda will include a resolution addressing Gandapur’s disappearance and incidents of confrontation at K-P House during the ongoing PTI protests in Islamabad.

In response to the situation, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced plans to organize a jirga, a traditional council, involving various political parties. Asad Qaiser, a senior PTI leader, stated that they are reaching out to political factions to convene a grand jirga to address the issue, calling Gandapur’s detention an insult to the province.

PTI plans to introduce a joint resolution at the upcoming assembly session, demanding the immediate release of CM Gandapur. This action follows growing tensions between the PTI and the government over recent protests in the federal capital.

The assembly session is expected to be crucial in shaping the party’s next steps in the ongoing political standoff, as PTI leaders continue to challenge the authorities and protest against the detention of their leader.
