Kakar Asserts the Neutrality of Caretaker and Pledges to Ensure Equitable Elections

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar addressed concerns on Friday, dispelling any notion of favoritism towards a specific political party by the caretaker government. He noted that political parties often employ various strategies to attract voters, and accusations of bias may be part of their tactics.

During an interview with a private news channel, Kakar reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections. He emphasized the caretaker setup’s impartiality and full support for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Regarding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Kakar stated that decisions regarding the PTI chairman’s participation in elections would be determined by the courts, and the caretaker government would adhere to court orders.

Kakar refuted claims of a caretaker cabinet member, Fawad Hassan Fawad, having affiliations with a specific political party. He expressed optimism about achieving the privatization target through Fawad’s dedicated efforts.

Regarding the repatriation of illegal Afghan immigrants, Kakar clarified that while there was no external pressure, Pakistan was obligated to follow rules and regulations concerning Afghan nationals residing illegally in the country.

He highlighted the prioritization of modernizing fisheries in the region, including comprehensive training for fishermen to meet international standards.
