Karachi Airport Faces Flight Disruptions Again

On Tuesday, passengers at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport experienced another round of flight disruptions. Numerous international and domestic flights were canceled or delayed due to technical and operational problems, as reported by a private news channel.

Specific flights affected include SereneAir’s Karachi to Islamabad flight (ER-504) and AirBlue’s (PA-200), both of which were canceled. Additionally, the Karachi to Multan PIA flight (PK-330) faced a delay of two and a half hours, and SereneAir’s Karachi to Peshawar flight (ER-554) was also canceled.

Further cancellations affected SereneAir flights to Lahore (ER-524) and PIA flights to Lahore (PK-306), while the PIA flight to Quetta (PK-310) experienced a five-hour delay. AirSial’s flight to Lahore (PF-143) and Sri Lankan Airlines’ flight from Karachi to Colombo (VL-184) were canceled as well.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had previously issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) warning of possible aircraft slippage on Karachi Airport’s runway 25L due to rain. The CAA advised pilots to exercise caution during takeoff and landing on wet runways to avoid accidents and instructed airlines and aviation training institutions to ensure pilots are adequately trained for such conditions.
