Kasur Police Under Fire: SHO Held in Murder Plot, Family Pressured for Rs1 Crore Settlement

Kasur Police Under Fire SHO Held in Murder Plot, Family Pressured for Rs1 Crore Settlement

The shocking murder of Ghulam Rasool has exposed deep-rooted corruption within Punjab Police and placed Kasur Police under serious scrutiny. Allegations suggest that officers attempted to pressure the grieving family into a financial settlement rather than ensuring justice.

According to reports, SHO Zeeshan Randhawa of Civil Lines Police Station, already facing multiple criminal charges including kidnapping for ransom, was arrested by Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) officials. He is accused of orchestrating Rasool’s killing along with his associate, Maqsood.

The victim’s family stated that the incident occurred in mid-January when Zeeshan and his team raided their house at night. They allegedly harassed family members and abducted Ghulam Rasool.

The victim was later taken to Faisalabad, where Maqsood reportedly shot him in the head before abandoning the body. The family confirmed the tragedy only after receiving a photograph of the deceased.

Adding to the controversy, the family claims that Kasur Police tried to coerce them into “settling” the case for Rs1 crore. This attempt to hide the crime sparked outrage, as it suggested a deliberate cover-up by those responsible for protecting citizens. The case was only properly addressed after the Counter Crime Department (CCD) intervened. Following the arrest of Maqsood, who confessed to the murder, SHO Zeeshan Randhawa was also taken into custody.

This case has drawn nationwide attention, raising critical concerns about corruption, abuse of power, and accountability within law enforcement. The victim’s family is now demanding swift justice, while the actions of Kasur Police are under official investigation.

The incident has intensified public anger and highlighted the urgent need for police reforms to restore trust between citizens and law enforcement authorities.
