A violent brawl erupted between government and opposition members in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Tuesday, as lawmakers exchanged punches and kicks following a heated argument. The scuffle began after opposition members expressed frustration over the speakerβs refusal to allow them the floor.
The confrontation intensified when PTIβs Nek Wazir and Iqbal Wazir of the PTI Parliamentarians, both from Waziristan, clashed. Their supporters also joined the fight, escalating the chaos.

Amid the uproar, the speaker announced a 15-minute recess, but the session was ultimately adjourned until 3 p.m. on Monday, October 14, due to ongoing disorder.
Earlier in the session, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur gave a forceful speech, condemning opposition actions and defending the government’s stance. He criticized the attack on K-P House in Islamabad as a dishonor to the province and labeled the May 9, 2023, attack on the Corps Commanderβs House in Lahore as a βfalse flag operation.β
Opposition leader Ahmad Kundi of the PPP countered, accusing the chief minister of inconsistency and highlighting the provincial leadershipβs failure to maintain law and order. Kundi also stressed the importance of addressing key issues like the 5.5 million children out of school, calling for more focus on governance.
As tensions grew, three individuals, including MPA Iqbal Wazirβs nephew Mujeebullah and relative Naqeebullah, were handed over to the police. The speaker summoned the MPs involved in the altercation to his chamber in an attempt to mediate the conflict.
Despite efforts to restore calm, the session was not able to resume. The assembly was eventually cleared, with lights turned off and participants asked to leave.
