The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Cabinet Approves Minimum Wage Increase and Addresses Various Issues
The caretaker cabinet of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), led by Chief Minister Azam Khan, held its 10th cabinet meeting, during which several important decisions were made.
One significant decision was the approval of a substantial increase in the minimum wage for laborers. The minimum wage, initially set on June 20, has been raised to Rs. 32,000. This increase is aimed at improving the livelihoods of the labor force.
Additionally, the cabinet extended its support to doctors in the Population Welfare Department by granting them health professional allowances, aligning their compensation with their counterparts in the Department of Health.

The cabinet also showed its commitment to local governance by granting initial approval for selected amendments to the Local Government Act of 2023. These amendments are intended to enhance and streamline the functioning of local authorities.
To strengthen disaster response capabilities, the cabinet approved the transfer of land from the Health Department to the Emergency Rescue Services for the establishment of a Rescue 1122 station in Lower Dir’s Adanzai Tehsil.
A supplementary grant under the ongoing AIP project was approved to support property owners affected in Miranshah Bazar, North Waziristan. Lastly, the cabinet endorsed a food security support project aimed at fostering agricultural development within the province.
