Job Alert: Kuwait Seeks Pakistani Skilled Workers

Kuwait has officially lifted its 15-year ban on hiring Pakistani workers, creating new employment opportunities for thousands of skilled and semi-skilled laborers. The decision was finalized following successful bilateral talks held in Islamabad on Tuesday.

A high-level Kuwaiti delegation, led by Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia Affairs Ambassador Sameeh Essa Johar Al Dafiri, met with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to confirm the reopening of the job market.

The move reflects the strengthening ties and mutual economic benefits for both countries.

Kuwait will now resume recruitment in sectors such as transport, construction, and healthcare. The hiring drive will focus on drivers, electricians, welders, carpenters, technicians, and other skilled professionals.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that Kuwaiti companies are ready to begin the recruitment process immediately, with a strong demand for workers in infrastructure projects.

Transparent Online Visa Process

To ensure transparency and eliminate middlemen exploitation, both governments have agreed to launch an online visa system. Naqvi stated that Kuwait aims to create a secure and fast hiring process that benefits Pakistani youth while reducing illegal practices.

This initiative aligns with Pakistan’s efforts to expand overseas employment opportunities. In 2024 alone, over 500,000 Pakistani workers went abroad, contributing to remittances exceeding $30 billion.

Officials expect that the reopening of the Kuwaiti market will further boost remittance inflows and help reduce unemployment at home.

Next Steps for Job Seekers

Prospective applicants are advised to register with the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment (BEOE) and avoid unauthorized agents.

The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis will launch a dedicated portal with job listings, visa instructions, and eligibility criteria soon.

With the resumption of recruitment, Kuwait is expected to become a key destination for Pakistani skilled labor, strengthening economic and workforce ties between the two nations.
