Veteran Pakistani actor Abid Kashmiri has passed away at the age of 74 after a brief illness, as confirmed by his family on Wednesday. Known for his impeccable comedic timing and larger-than-life performances, Kashmiri had been unwell for some time, according to his daughter.
Born on May 4, 1950, in Lahore, he enjoyed a prolific career in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, appearing in numerous television dramas, stage plays, and films. His natural comedic flair captivated audiences and earned him a special place in the hearts of his fans.
In recognition of his remarkable talent, he received the prestigious Nigar Award for Best Comedian in 1988 for his performance in the film Bazaar-e-Husn. Abid Kashmiri leaves behind two sons and two daughters, along with a legacy cherished by millions across the country.
