Link Between Imran's Release and US Elections Dismissed

KARACHI: Senior government officials have dismissed speculations linking the potential release of PTI founder Imran Khan to the outcome of the US elections and Donald Trump’s recent victory. They emphasized that the legal cases against Imran Khan are still being processed by the courts, and his release remains a domestic legal issue.

The officials stressed that these cases will be resolved according to Pakistani law, and the government will not accept any external pressure or influence from foreign countries regarding this matter. They also expressed optimism that relations with the new US administration under President Donald Trump could improve, but clarified that Pakistan intends to maintain its foreign policy on a balanced and independent footing.

With Trump’s election win, Pakistani officials are closely monitoring potential global shifts and assessing how his administration’s policies could impact bilateral relations. Historically, Pakistan’s relations with the US under Trump’s previous presidency were seen as relatively stable, and the federal government is now expected to formulate a strategic approach to future relations with the US based on Trump’s foreign policy stance towards Pakistan.
