Massive Hailstorm Batters Islamabad Amid Fierce Winds and NDMA Alert

A powerful hailstorm hit Islamabad on Saturday, just weeks after a previous storm caused significant damage to vehicles, solar panels, and vegetation in the capital.

Last month’s hailstorm had also wreaked havoc across Islamabad, lasting around 35 minutes, with large hailstones shattering windshields and snapping tree branches.

In response to current weather developments, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert, warning of potential rain, thunderstorms, and lightning across various regions of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the advisory, Islamabad and Rawalpindi are expected to witness windstorms and thunderous rain, while other cities like Faisalabad, Lahore, Narowal, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, and Sialkot may also receive rainfall.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, similar conditions are predicted in Mardan, Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, Nowshera, Battagram, Mansehra, and Abbottabad.

Meanwhile, Sindh and Balochistan will continue to experience predominantly hot and dry weather.
