Matric Exam Failure Leads to Tragedy: Two Brothers Swept Away in Jhelum River

A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday in Chakothi, Azad Kashmir, after two real brothers, Kashif and Waqas, plunged into the Jhelum River. The incident reportedly unfolded after Kashif’s matric exam failure left him deeply distressed. His failure in a few subjects led him to take a drastic step by jumping into the river.

Witnesses said that Kashif, unable to cope with the disappointment of his matric exam failure, jumped into the river near the newly installed chairlift in Chakothi, a town located close to the Indian border. His elder brother, Waqas, who was on army leave, immediately tried to save him. In a desperate attempt, Waqas leapt into the river to rescue Kashif. Unfortunately, the strong current of the river carried both brothers away, leaving onlookers unable to help.

As news of the incident spread, Rescue 1122 teams, along with some local residents, rushed to the scene. They began a search operation along the riverbanks in hopes of locating the two brothers. However, as of the time of filing this report, no sign of the brothers had been found.

The incident has deeply shocked the community, with many expressing their grief over the tragic loss. The death of Waqas, who was trying to save his younger brother, has left the family devastated. The community has come together to pray for the souls of the two brothers, hoping they find peace in the hereafter.

This heartbreaking tragedy highlights the emotional toll matric exam failure can have on young individuals. It serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health support, especially during times of academic stress.
