The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has begun commercial production of Tight Gas from the Nur West Well-1. OGDC fully owns the Nur Development & Production Lease in District Sujawal, Sindh.
The well currently produces 1.5 MMSCFD of gas at a wellhead pressure of 1,050 PSI from the Lower Guru formation. The gas has been integrated into the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) network, enhancing the national gas supply.

Drilled to 2,975 meters, Nur West #01 encountered a tight formation, which initially resisted conventional testing methods. Hydraulic fracturing was used to achieve production viability. OGDC has also developed a roadmap for Tight Gas exploration and development to support national energy needs and sustainable development.
