Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir Visits UK Garrisons, Highlights Military Cooperation

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, embarked on a significant visit to the United Kingdom, where he toured the Warminster and Larkhill garrisons at the invitation of British Army Chief, General Sir Roland Walker. During his visit, General Munir was briefed on various military projects and strategies, including those of the British Army’s Deep Recce Strike Brigade.

The tour included demonstrations of advanced military technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), both of which are crucial in modern warfare and future military operations. The engagement reflects the strengthening of Pakistan-UK defence cooperation, particularly in adopting cutting-edge technologies for enhanced operational capabilities.

General Munir’s visit follows his participation in the 7th Regional Stability Conference held at the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. The conference provided an opportunity for military leaders and policymakers to discuss regional and global security challenges, with General Munir delivering a keynote address on “The Emerging World Order and Pakistan’s Future Outlook.”

As part of his UK tour, the army chief is scheduled to meet several top British officials, including Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, the UK’s Chief of Defence Staff, and Home Secretary Yvette Cooper. These meetings will focus on enhancing bilateral security cooperation, particularly in the areas of counterterrorism and regional stability.

The visit underscores the longstanding defence partnership between Pakistan and the UK, with both nations committed to ongoing military collaboration through joint training, strategic dialogues, and the sharing of expertise in modern military operations.
