Pakistan has strongly condemned recent remarks made by the Indian Prime Minister during a speech in Rajasthan, labeling them as “baseless, provocative, and irresponsible.” In a statement released Friday, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said the comments were a deliberate attempt to inflame regional tensions for political purposes.
“The remarks, replete with distortions and inflammatory rhetoric, not only aim to mislead the public but violate the norms of responsible statecraft,” Khan stated. He emphasized that threatening military action against a sovereign nation breaches both the United Nations Charter and international law, putting regional peace at risk.

Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s longstanding commitment to counterterrorism and dismissed India’s allegations linking Pakistan to recent attacks as factually incorrect and politically motivated. He accused New Delhi of using such narratives to distract from its internal issues and human rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The recent escalation follows India’s missile strikes in response to an April 22 attack that killed 26 Hindu pilgrims, for which no evidence was publicly provided. Pakistan denied involvement, and a ceasefire was reached on May 10 after intense military exchanges between the two nuclear-armed nations.
Calling for restraint and diplomatic engagement, Pakistan reiterated its desire for peaceful coexistence. “However, our restraint should not be seen as weakness. Any aggression will be met with a resolute and proportionate response,” Khan warned, urging the international community to take serious note of India’s belligerence and hate-driven rhetoric.
