He emphasized that the Green Sukuk represents a vital step forward in Pakistan’s efforts to address climate change, which poses a serious threat to the country’s future.

Aurangzeb shared insights from recent engagements with international investors in Washington and London, pointing out their positive response to Pakistan’s improving economic outlook, supported by better inflation control and rising foreign reserves.

As preparations for the 2025–26 national budget continue, he noted that extensive consultation with stakeholders is underway to ensure the formulation of an inclusive and forward-thinking economic plan.

He also underlined the need for sustainable financing, proposing that Pakistan look toward Malaysia’s model of green economic development. Additionally, he confirmed that Pakistan is actively working to secure international climate financing to tackle its environmental challenges.

Aurangzeb highlighted that the nation is celebrating Thanksgiving Day with renewed optimism, reflecting progress on both economic and environmental fronts.

In a separate announcement, he reiterated Pakistan’s plan to issue its first Panda Bond on the Chinese capital markets by June 2025, aiming to raise around $200 million. This move is intended to strengthen Pakistan’s financial engagement with China and support the country’s broader goal of transitioning to an export-led economic model, with a strong focus on long-term balance of payments sustainability.
