Pakistan to Spotlight Top Green Startups at COP29 in Azerbaijan

Pakistan will showcase its top climate-focused startups at the upcoming COP29 climate conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, this November, highlighting innovative solutions for greenhouse gas reduction and sustainability.

The recently launched Green-Tech Hub (G-TH) at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad will support these efforts by promoting green technologies and renewable solutions. The hub aims to empower young entrepreneurs and foster industry collaborations to develop scalable green projects.

Salaal Hassan, CEO of Ignite, shared that ten promising startups from agritech, energy, and related sectors will be selected for COP29, with three receiving additional support for funding and job creation.

Aisha Humera, Ministry of Climate Change Secretary, emphasized Pakistan’s severe climate challenges, despite contributing less than 1% to global emissions. She commended the G-TH as a crucial space for innovators to address climate impacts.
