PCB Postpones Domestic Cricket Amid Border Tensions

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the postponement of multiple domestic cricket tournaments due to escalating tensions along the Pakistan-India border. Competitions affected include the Grade II President’s Trophy, the Regional Inter-District Cup, and the Under-19 Inter-District One-Day Tournament.

According to a PCB statement, the tournaments will resume once the security situation stabilizes. A senior board official revealed that the decision was made after thorough discussions with regional cricket associations and security agencies, prioritizing the safety of players and officials.

“With mobility restrictions and increased uncertainty in several regions, continuing the events was not viable at this time,” the official noted. Heightened security measures and military presence have been reported in parts of Punjab and Azad Jammu & Kashmir due to the ongoing border situation.

The PCB reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding participants and ensuring a safe environment before resuming domestic competitions.
