Petrol Price Slashed by Rs7.54 as Govt Announces New Rates

The federal government has announced revised petrol price, effective from August 1, 2025. According to a notification from the Ministry of Finance, the petrol price has been reduced by Rs7.54 per litre, while the price of diesel has increased by Rs1.48 per litre.

The new petrol price is set at Rs264.61 per litre, while diesel will now cost Rs285.83 per litre. These changes will take effect from midnight and will remain valid for the next fifteen days.

Earlier, on July 15, 2025, the government had increased the petrol price by Rs5.36 per litre and the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs11.37 per litre.

At that time, petrol prices stood at Rs272.15 per litre, and high-speed diesel was priced at Rs284.35 per litre. Additionally, the price of kerosene was reduced by Rs3.10 per litre during the last adjustment.

This latest revision in the petrol price is part of the government’s ongoing adjustments to the rates of petroleum products. These changes reflect fluctuations in global oil prices and other economic factors.

The public is advised to stay updated on any future price changes, as the government continues to monitor the market and adjust the rates accordingly.
