The government has announced fuel price adjustments for the next 15 days, keeping petrol prices unchanged but reducing the price of high-speed diesel by Rs3.05 per litre, effective from midnight on Sunday. According to the Ministry of Finance, petrol will remain priced at Rs252.10 per litre, while the new price for high-speed diesel will be Rs255.38 per litre.
Kerosene and light diesel prices were also lowered, with kerosene now at Rs161.66 per litre (down by Rs3.32) and light diesel priced at Rs148.95 per litre (a decrease of Rs2.78). The price adjustments were determined by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) based on fluctuations in international oil prices.

The reduction in diesel prices, which mainly affects the transport and agriculture sectors, is expected to have a disinflationary effect on consumers. This announcement follows a previous fuel price hike in early December, where petrol increased by Rs3.72 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs3.29 per litre.
The revised fuel prices will be in effect for the next fortnight.
