PIA Completes Hajj Operations, Pilgrims Return Home

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) successfully concluded its Hajj operation on Sunday, bringing all pilgrims back home after months of coordinated efforts.

A PIA spokesman reported that the pre-Hajj phase ran from May 9 to June 11, followed by the post-Hajj phase from June 20 to July 21. During this period, PIA operated 143 flightsβ€”61 from Jeddah and 82 from Madinahβ€”returning 34,663 pilgrims, including 19,278 under the government scheme, 14,754 under the private Hajj scheme, and 631 “Khudams.”

PIA’s CEO praised the teams involved in the Hajj operation for their transparent and dedicated efforts in both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Despite ongoing routine flights, PIA is preparing for privatization, with bidding set for August, while also working to lift the ban on flights to European destinations.
