PIA Employee Arrested for Alleged Luggage Theft at Karachi Airport

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employee has been taken into custody for allegedly stealing a female passenger’s luggage at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. The incident occurred after PIA flight PK-305, traveling from Lahore, landed in Karachi.

The female passenger reported the missing luggage upon arrival, prompting the airport administration to launch an investigation. Airport sources identified the suspect as Tariq Ali, an employee of PIA’s engineering department. He was apprehended following a brief scuffle when airport authorities attempted to take him into custody.

With the help of Karachi Airport administration, the missing luggage, which contained the passenger’s personal belongings, was recovered. A senior official confirmed the recovery and stated that the passenger’s items were returned promptly.

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) handed over Tariq Ali to the Airport Security Force (ASF) for further investigation. Additionally, Ali’s airport entry pass has been revoked while the investigation continues. PIA has also initiated its own internal probe into the matter.

Authorities are expected to release a preliminary report soon, as the ASF continues its investigation. The incident has raised concerns over security protocols at the airport, with PIA and the ASF working together to ensure the situation is thoroughly addressed.
