PM Shehbaz Orders Urgent Measures for Safe Return of Zaireen from Iran

In response to escalating tensions in the region, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed all relevant authorities to ensure the safe and swift return of Pakistani zaireen currently in Iran, following deadly Israeli airstrikes.

To facilitate this, a 24/7 Crisis Management Cell has been activated at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The cell is tasked with closely monitoring developments and coordinating with the Pakistani Embassy in Tehran, which has been instructed to remain on high alert and provide full assistance to pilgrims.

The prime minister stressed that all available resources must be deployed to protect the lives of Pakistani nationals abroad. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining active communication with pilgrims until the situation in the region stabilizes.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar shared the embassy’s emergency hotline number — (0098)-2166941388 — for anyone seeking assistance. He also confirmed that the Crisis Management Unit is fully operational, offering support to affected families and pilgrims.

The Foreign Office has urged Pakistani citizens to reconsider travel to both Iran and Iraq due to the deteriorating security environment, underscoring the seriousness of the unfolding crisis.
