Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reached out to top political leaders across party lines to brief them on Pakistan’s retaliatory actions following recent Indian aggression along the Line of Control. The premier held telephonic discussions with leaders from major parties, including PPP, PTI, JUI-F, Jamaat-e-Islami, MQM, BAP, and IPP.
During the calls, PM Shehbaz emphasized the importance of national unity and assured that Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity would be defended at all costs. He informed the leaders about the evolving situation and the measures taken by Pakistan in response to the Indian strikes.
In turn, political leaders expressed unanimous support for the armed forces and the government’s actions. Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman publicly praised the government’s firm stance and called for enhanced diplomatic efforts to present Pakistan’s case internationally.
This outreach comes at a time of heightened tensions between the two nuclear powers, with political unity seen as critical in navigating the developing security situation.
