Inspector Saifullah Niazi, in charge of the Babu Sabu check post, was fatally shot by his private employee, Adeel, during a confrontation at the inspector’s home. Adeel allegedly used Niazi’s service pistol to commit the crime after a dispute over Adeel’s tardiness.
The argument intensified, leading to the tragic shooting. Following the incident, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran arrived at the scene to oversee the investigation.

DIG Kamran confirmed the arrest of the accused and assured the media that all necessary evidence would be collected to ensure justice. He expressed condolences, calling it a devastating loss for the Lahore Police and pledged support to the inspector’s family.
During questioning, Adeel admitted to the crime, claiming he was pushed to the brink by the inspector’s frequent insults and harsh treatment. Inspector Niazi had a reputation for a strict and sometimes abrasive manner, which may have contributed to the violent outcome.
Investigators are looking into whether Niazi’s past behavior played a role in the fatal incident. DIG Kamran reiterated the Lahore Police’s commitment to standing by the inspector’s grieving family.
