Possible Cyclone in Arabian Sea Expected to Impact Pakistan’s Coastal Areas

The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) has issued an alert regarding a developing weather system in the Arabian Sea, which could potentially evolve into a coastal cyclone. According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), this system is currently located near the Lakshadweep Islands in India and is expected to move in a northwesterly direction.

Initial forecasts suggest that, depending on its speed and intensity, the system could make landfall along Pakistan’s coastal areas in the third week of October. The NDMA is advising coastal residents and authorities to stay updated on developments and prepare for any potential emergency scenarios. The agency is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with other organizations to ensure readiness.

In a related weather update, Karachi is experiencing a rise in temperatures, with maximum temperatures expected to exceed 38°C. The Meteorological Department has warned that northwestern desert winds from Balochistan will contribute to the heat. Today, the city is expected to experience partly cloudy conditions, with temperatures ranging between 33°C and 35°C, though humidity will make it feel warmer. Other areas in Sindh are also expected to see hot and dry weather, which is typical for October, with cooler conditions anticipated by early or mid-November.
