Prime Minister Authorized The Commencement Of Legislation For The Ease Of Doing Business Act

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the initiation of legislation for the Ease of Doing Business Act, emphasizing that fostering a business and investor-friendly environment is the government’s top priority.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office media cell, a crucial review meeting on measures for easing business operations and investment took place at the Prime Minister’s House, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

While endorsing the legislation for the Ease of Doing Business Act, the Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting a favorable business environment in Pakistan. He instructed that documentation procedures should be streamlined for businesses and the business community through one-window operations.

Sharif also directed that assistance be sought from Chinese experts to establish a pilot facility center modeled after the one-stop shop in Shenzhen, China.

The meeting included a briefing on the ease of doing business and related initiatives. Attendees were informed about plans to set up an electronic registry for business registration, licenses, certificates, and other documents. Additionally, an online One Window Pakistan Business Portal system will be introduced, enabling access to services from all relevant institutions.

The participants were also briefed on the strategy being developed for the establishment of the Islamabad Business Facilitation Center.
