PSW Introduces Automated Vehicle Registration System

The Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and the Sindh Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control (ET&NC) Department have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) following the successful integration of the Sindh ET&NC Department with the PSW.

This integration allows for various services, such as the collection of the Sindh Infrastructure Development Cess (SIDC), submission of applications for SIDC exemption or waiver, and management of Bank Guarantees and their release, to be accessible through the PSW system.

Furthermore, PSW will enable the Sindh ET&NC Department to access and verify information related to imported and auctioned vehicles at the time of registration through integration with the Sindh ET&NC Motor Vehicle Registration system. Notably, the Sindh ET&NC Department is the first provincial department to integrate its cross-border trade-related processes with PSW, marking a significant step toward seamless data exchange and transparent collection of Cess.

CEO of PSW, Syed Aftab Haider, expressed his appreciation for the Sindh ET&NC authorities’ support in this initiative and highlighted how PSW is contributing to digitalization and government process integration at both national and international levels. This move towards creating a national platform for cross-border trade signifies a significant achievement in enhancing efficiency and transparency in trade-related processes.
