Sources within Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was arrested in Islamabad after arriving with a few security officials. Gandapur, who was leading a protest convoy, reportedly left his group behind near Hassan Abdal and headed to Islamabad for undisclosed reasons, where he was allegedly arrested following a police raid at KP House.

According to initial reports, Gandapur’s arrest is linked to an old case involving liquor recovery, though security officials have indicated he faces additional charges of attacking the state and damaging property.

Government sources have denied these claims, asserting that no formal arrest has been made.

Meanwhile, Gandapur’s protest convoy, still near Hassan Abdal, saw heightened tensions as police fired shells to disperse PTI supporters. Heavy machinery accompanied the protestors as they attempted to break through blockades, and the convoy is reportedly preparing to advance toward Bahtar Interchange.
