Punjab Faces Rising Temperatures Amid Dry Spell

Temperatures across Punjab are on the rise as a dry spell continues, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). Weather forecasts predict hot and dry conditions to persist for the next three days, with daytime temperatures climbing steadily. However, cooler nights are expected to offer some relief.

In Lahore, daytime highs could reach up to 32°C, with minimum temperatures around 18°C. The PMD has advised the public to take precautions during peak afternoon hours when the heat will be most intense.

Meanwhile, Karachi is set to experience even hotter conditions over the weekend. On Friday, the city’s temperatures soared to 36.9°C, with expectations of further rises to above 37°C on Saturday and Sunday. The Early Warning Centre has forecast that northwesterly winds from Balochistan will affect the city, though sea breezes are expected to resume in the afternoons.

Citizens are urged to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.
