Punjab’s newly elected Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, has unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at empowering the youth through modern projects. Building on the success of previous endeavors such as providing iPads and free bus services, CM Maryam Nawaz has now announced a groundbreaking initiative to distribute e-bikes to students, with the goal of alleviating transportation costs.
In a historic move, the country’s first-ever female Chief Minister has given the green light to two major transport projects in Punjab. As per her directives, approximately 20,000 electric bikes and 657 eco-friendly buses will soon be introduced on the streets of Punjab.

The E-Bike Scheme, a key component of these transport initiatives, is designed to benefit students, working women, youth, and disabled individuals by providing a budget-friendly commuting option. The scheme specifically addresses the transportation challenges faced by students attending colleges and universities.
The online application process for the free Electric Bike scheme is scheduled to commence in the coming months. The Bank of Punjab has pledged its support by offering a Soft Loan for students in the most populous region of the country, facilitating easy installment payments with a minimum interest rate.
The initial implementation of the scheme will focus on major cities such as Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, and Faisalabad, with plans to extend its reach to smaller cities across Punjab. The scheme will include separate quotas for male and female students, with a meticulous application approval process to ensure efficiency and success.
Additionally, CM Maryam Nawaz has directed the launch of a school bus project catering specifically to girl students in every tehsil of Punjab. As part of this initiative, the advance amount for students will be reduced, making education more accessible and convenient.
During a meeting with senior officials, CM Maryam reviewed the progress of these transport projects, emphasizing their significance in improving students’ convenience. In the initial phase, the buses will be introduced in key cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur.
In a parallel development, CM Maryam Nawaz has taken further steps to support low-income individuals by ordering a reduction in housing installments. She has also set a deadline for marking land for housing construction in various districts and instructed measures to decrease the overall cost of housing.
These comprehensive initiatives reflect CM Maryam Nawaz’s commitment to fostering youth empowerment, improving educational accessibility, and addressing the practical needs of the people of Punjab. As these projects unfold, they have the potential to significantly impact the lives of students, working individuals, and the economically vulnerable, contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable future for the region.
