Gujranwala Incident: Daughters Set Father on Fire and Claimed he Used to Sexually Assault Them

Two daughters have been accused of tying up their father and setting him on fire, leading to his death from severe burn injuries.

The incident occurred in Gujranwala’s Mughal Chowk area, under the Civil Lines police station’s jurisdiction. The victim, 45-year-old Ali Akbar, was a father of 12 children and had been married three times. He was living with his two surviving wives and children in a rented house at the time of the tragedy, as his first wife had passed away.

According to police reports, the accused daughters, 16-year-old Anum and 12-year-old Yashfa, confessed to the crime during custody. They claimed their father had assaulted them, which drove them to take such drastic action. The girls reportedly poured petrol on him while he was asleep and set him on fire.

A case has been registered against the daughters, and Ali Akbar’s two wives have also been named as co-accused. Police are continuing their investigation and have announced plans to conduct medical examinations of the daughters to verify their allegations.

Ali Akbar’s sisters, Balqis Bibi and Fareeda, rejected the accusations against their brother. Speaking to News Guru, they revealed that Ali Akbar had been planning to marry one of his daughters to his nephew following the death of their sister in Faisalabad. This plan allegedly caused disputes within the family, as both of his wives opposed the arrangement.

The sisters further claimed that after setting their father on fire, the daughters initially told hospital staff he had suffered burns from a heater accident. This false explanation temporarily allowed them to avoid legal repercussions.
