Lahore to Observe Public Holiday on August 26 for Urs of Data Ganj Bakhsh

Lahore will experience a long weekend as the Punjab government has declared a public holiday on Monday, August 26, 2024, in honor of the 981st Urs of Hazrat Ali Jajveri, also known as Data Gunj Baksh. The Services and General Administration Department (Welfare Wing) issued a notification confirming the holiday.

All government offices in Lahore, with the exception of the Punjab Civil Secretariat, its Attached Departments, and Regional Offices, will be closed on Monday.

Local authorities, including the Lahore Division Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, have been directed to notify the public about the holiday.

Additionally, the Lahore High Court has announced a public holiday on August 26, with the approval of Acting Chief Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh.
