Punjab Eliminates Job Quota for Deceased Civil Servant’ Families

The Punjab Government has revised the Civil Servant Rules by removing Rule 17A from the 1974 regulations. Previously, Rule 17A provided job opportunities for the children or spouses of deceased civil servants through a specific service quota.

The recent change means that family members of deceased civil servants will no longer benefit from this job placement quota. This alteration marks a significant policy shift, affecting families who relied on this rule for job security and financial support following the loss of a loved one in government service.
