The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds across various parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), offering some relief from the ongoing hot spell in these regions.

According to the PMD, dusty winds are expected in the plains of Punjab, while light rain is likely in Talagang, Jhelum, and Rawalpindi. In KP, plains will also experience strong winds, while northern areas like Chitral, Dir, Swat, and Malakand may see thunderstorm activity by night. Other regions such as Mansehra, Shangla, Kohistan, and Abbottabad are also on alert for rain and thunder.

Meanwhile, heatwave-like conditions are expected to persist in Sindh and Balochistan, including cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana. Temperatures in these areas are expected to remain well above seasonal norms.

Authorities have advised citizens to stay indoors during peak heat hours and remain well-hydrated to avoid heat-related illnesses.
