The Commissioner of Rawalpindi, Engineer Amir Khattak, has issued clear directives to ensure that the city’s ongoing development projects, including the Daducha Dam and Rawalpindi Ring Road, are completed within their set timelines. The completion of the Rawalpindi Ring Road project is a particular focus for the New Year.
Commissioner Khattak, along with the Director General of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Kanza Murtaza, and other senior officials, visited the project sites to inspect the pace and quality of work. During their visit to both the Daducha Dam and the Rawalpindi Ring Road site at Banth Mor, they conducted a detailed review of the progress made so far.

The Commissioner emphasized that these projects should be completed on schedule, suggesting that additional teams may be mobilized if necessary to meet deadlines. Regarding the Rawalpindi Ring Road, officials provided a briefing stating that the 38.3-kilometer project is currently 40% complete. The deadline for its completion is December 2025, but if funding remains consistent and work continues at the present pace, the project could be finished ahead of schedule.
These initiatives are seen as critical for the infrastructure development of the region, and the Commissioner’s proactive approach highlights the government’s commitment to improving the city’s connectivity and water resources.
