Roads Closed in Islamabad Due to PTI’s Sangjani Rally

Islamabad is under tight security with most roads blocked by containers and barricades as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) holds a rally on the city’s outskirts, demanding the release of a jailed leader.

On Saturday night, senior PTI leaders, including Gohar Ayub and Umer Ayub, inspected the rally site and were pleased with the preparations. A large stage, made from containers, has been set up.

Key routes from Sangjani to Islamabad, including Khanna Bridge and Faizabad, are closed, causing significant traffic disruptions. Access from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab is also restricted, with containers placed at the Attock Khurd checkpoint.

PTI caravans from Sindh, Punjab, and KP are en route, while the KP government faces criticism for allegedly using state resources to support the rally. Some PTI leaders from Sindh were delayed due to road blockages, which authorities attributed to PTI workers.
