Investigators are now treating the tragic death of a seven-year-old boy as a murder case. The child’s body was discovered in an underground water tank of his apartment building 11 days after he went missing. A post-mortem report confirmed he was assaulted before being killed.
On January 7, Mohammed Sarim went to a madrassa within his apartment complex but never returned home. His body was found on January 18 in the water tank of the same building.

Doctors conducting the autopsy ruled out an accidental death, noting 12 injuries on the child’s body, most of which occurred before his death.
The report indicated he likely died four to five days before the examination, suggesting he remained alive for about a week after being kidnapped.
The findings raise concerns about the investigation’s efforts to locate the boy sooner. Meanwhile, DIG-West Irfan Ali Baloch stated that the exact cause and time of death are still under review. A teacher from the madrassa has been detained, and DNA samples are being tested for further evidence.
