Sikh Pilgrims From India Have Arrived At Nankana Sahib For Ranjit Singh Anniversary

More than 450 Indian Sikh pilgrims have arrived in Pakistan to participate in the 185th anniversary celebrations of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and have reached Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak, on Monday morning.

During their three-day stay, the pilgrims will conduct religious ceremonies and visit various sacred sites.

Upon arrival, the local community warmly greeted the Indian Sikh pilgrims, expressing deep respect and hospitality. One pilgrim remarked, “The warmth and affection of the Pakistani people attract us here,” echoing the positive sentiments of many others who expressed gratitude for the hospitality received.

The government has made extensive arrangements to ensure the safety and comfort of the pilgrims, including robust security measures, sanitation facilities, langar (community kitchen), accommodations, and transportation.

“We were deeply moved by the hospitality of the locals,” one visitor shared, emphasizing the generosity and kindness experienced.

Throughout their visit, the pilgrims will participate in religious rituals at Nankana Sahib and other sacred locations. Today, they are scheduled to proceed to Gurdwara Sacha Sauda for further religious observances.

The 185th anniversary celebrations of Maharaja Ranjit Singh are significant for Sikhs worldwide, honoring his role as the founder of the Sikh Empire and his contributions to promoting religious harmony. His legacy remains a source of inspiration for Sikhs globally.

Authorities have ensured meticulous planning for this important occasion, aiming to facilitate the pilgrims in performing their rituals and paying homage to Maharaja Ranjit Singh without any obstacles.

“Special security arrangements were put in place for the anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s passing,” noted an official, underscoring the event’s significance and commitment to ensuring a memorable experience for all pilgrims.
