A shocking discovery was made near the Malir River in Shah Latif Town’s Sharafi Goth area as a woman’s body was found hidden inside a plastic drum. Police say the body was badly decomposed and is estimated to be around 25 days old.
The victim’s hands and feet were tied before being placed in the drum. Forensic experts believe the deceased was approximately 30 years old. The condition of the body suggests the crime was committed weeks earlier.
According to eyewitnesses and surveillance footage, unidentified people dumped the drum by the roadside and fled in a vehicle. Authorities have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the woman’s identity and track down the suspects involved.
Forensic teams are working with the police to collect evidence and analyze the scene. Law enforcement officials have stated that all efforts are being made to solve the case as soon as possible.
This disturbing incident follows the recent discovery of actress Humaira Asghar Ali’s body in her apartment located in Defence Phase VI. Her death was uncovered when a court bailiff, along with police, visited the residence to carry out an eviction notice over unpaid rent.
The back-to-back reports of female bodies being found have sparked concern among Karachi residents. Activists and citizens are raising questions about women’s safety and the increasing number of unsolved crimes involving unidentified female victims.
Police officials are urging the public to report any suspicious activity and are appealing for information that may help identify the deceased woman found near Malir River.
These cases highlight the urgent need for improved security, especially for vulnerable individuals. The investigations continue, and updates are expected as more details emerge.
